Summer’s not over yet! There’s still time to get out and enjoy the fun with friends and family. Festivals, parks, sports, the beach….you name it and it’s happening somewhere in the New York Metro area. Need some inspiration? Here are 10 accessible activities to do before summer ends:
1) Blaze a Trail – Go hiking on an accessible trail, have a picnic or go camping. Take in some nature, maybe even do a bit of bird-watching. See what New York state has to offer.
2) Stop and Smell the Roses – Visit the stunning landscapes, collections and landmarks at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx. There’s even jazz on Thursday nights…and floral design and Mario Batali cooking classes throughout the week.
The next New York Mobility Club meeting is Feb. 13 (6-8pm) at Bussani Mobility’s new Smithtown showroom (401 Middle Country Road).
Guest speaker Mary Peterson, CTC, from Able to Travel, will tell the group all they need to know about Accessible Travel. She’ll give the inside scoop about hotels, cruises, air travel — and how to travel hassle-free.
A FREE community service, the New York Mobility Club was designed to be a warm, friendly place where people with disabilities and their loved ones can go to talk and learn about all sorts of resources to help them live more independent and fulfilling lives. The atmosphere is uplifting and positive. Participants share their stories, challenges and successes.
