The MXV personifies action and independence while allowing for easy access and safe driving by people living with physical disabilities as well as caregivers. It has been described as offering the freedom of an accessible van with the style and swag of an SUV.
Brought to market by trusted mobility conversion manufacturer BraunAbility, the MXV is getting rave reviews across the country. The vehicle has recently become available for purchase in New York State and is available at local mobility dealer Bussani Mobility’s four locations.
“The MXV represents a new era in mobility,” said Daniel [...]
SALT…it helps keep us safe on the snowy roads here in the Northeast. But it also wreaks havoc on our vehicles. Now with winter in full force, we want to remind you how important it is to clear salt and dirt from your wheelchair accessible van…and keep your undercarriage clean. When salt is left on the outside of your vehicle, you can easily see the damage it does to the paint finish. Well imagine what it’s doing to the unseen, forgotten, underside of your van throughout the whole winter. It can cause major body and undercarriage damage. When the salt build-up is left there for too long, rust and corrosion can set in. Metal parts like fuel lines can break, leading to costly repairs.
But this is easy to prevent. Just keep your undercarriage clean. Take your vehicle to the car wash or detailing shop regularly, especially [...]

Sadly, most people in need of wheelchair accessible vans assume they have to take what they can get. But the fact of the matter is many models out there are getting more and more accommodating in terms of passenger comfort. Before you put own your money on a van that’s wheelchair accessible , consider these aspects of comfort and convenience.
Think About Height: Whether or not the individual in the wheelchair will be the driver or the passenger needs to be taken into consideration. The amount of height within a van that is wheelchair accessible can be determined by the amount of space the floor has been lowered. There are many models of new wheelchair accessible vans out there that have a 10 inch lowered floor. This allows ample space for most people but exceptions can usually be made for taller [...]

We wanted to share a few tidbits with you from the Bussani Mobility March 13th New York Mobility Club meeting, which was all about Adaptive Sports.
Tony Fitzgerald (a paralympian and 3-sport athlete who currently plays for the NY rangers and Long Island Roughriders sled hockey teams) shared his insights into how sports can have a curative effect. He said: “Wheelchair sports are not just sports, they’re therapy. Everybody can find a sport that they can customize, adapt, or improvise. You can do amazing things.”
In taking questions from the group, he got into the nitty gritty of how things work. One participant said he doesn’t have the hand strength to grip a hockey stick. And Tony responded, “You don’t need it. You’d be amazed at what a little duct tape can [...]
