This year’s Nassau County Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged were incredibly inspiring! It’s just amazing what these kids – with the heart and courage of true athletes – can do! More than 932 athletes aged 5 to 21 registered from across the state for the May 31-June 2 event.

The Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged have taken place in Nassau County for the past 28 years. The Mitchel Field Athletic Complex and Nassau Community College are home to many of the sporting events. With much enthusiasm — and lots of playful hoops and hollers — participants competed in track and field, slalom, swimming, wheelchair basketball, table tennis, archery, and more.
